- Intermediate vinyl is designed for much shorter term applications than those intended for High Performance Vinyl. Intermediate Vinyl is absolutely the BEST, most
cost effective choice if you want your Window Lettering to still look new for up to 2-3 years. The Intermediate 3M Quality Brand of vinyl we feature in Sign Magic is one
of the highest quality Intermediate brands of vinyl available. Although 3M rates their vinyl for 5 years outdoors, it likely won't stay looking new for longer than 2-3
years.
- All brands of intermediate vinyl fade much faster than High Performance Vinyl. All brands of intermediate vinyl shrink around the edges which can leave an
adhesive "border" around the vinyl graphics. Due to this tendency to shrink, Intermediate vinyl has a much higher tendency to crack. However, for applications
where you only need the lettering to look brand new for up to 2-3 years, then by all means, go with the lowest cost lettering solution. On the other hand, if you want
extended durability for years to come, then you should definitely choose the High Performance Vinyl.
